Via Nano Processor for Netbooks

Via Technologies announced their much-talked-about dual-core Nano processor for netbooks won't be out until June 2010. Thus, till 2010 Intel Atom will face no competition from Via.

Further to that, Via will release new Nano E-Series with 1333MHz FSB, up from 800MHz. By the end of 2009, the company expects to move to 45nm process and will come out with dual-core Nano CPUs with sockets compatible to existing platforms.

However, the dual-core Nano processors will go into mass production in June 2010. Till then Intel Atom will enjoy their monopoly as AMD has specified that their Yukon platform is targeting ultra-portables that have screen size varying from 11 to 13 inches.
