GPS or Global positioning System has been around for many years. The opening of the system to public use has spawned a renaissance in personal navigation. It used to be that personal navigation consisted of unwieldy folding maps, personal knowledge of area landmarks, and friendly locals giving out directions. Now, navigating with these resources was not always clear cut or efficient but you eventually got to where you needed to get to. In more ways than one it many a long trip more like an adventure. Although some feel that using GPS to help you navigate removes the adventure, I think it accentuates the adventure.
